JWF goes to Spain!
We have been privileged enough to take our first two tours to Spain already. Our inaugural tour was September of 2017 where we spent one week in Madrid and one week in Barcelona, training with and playing against the most prestigious La Liga clubs in the country including Barcelona FC and Real Madrid FC. This is an incredible learning experience for our young footballers that is unrivalled anywhere else.
Our second tour took place in June/July 2018. We took two squads to compete in the world renowned IBER Cup youth tournaments! The players and families spend one week in the beautiful city of Estoril, Portugal for the first tournament. Followed by two days in Madrid for a Real Madrid training session at the famous Ciudad Real Madrid Training Complex, and a tour of the complex and Santiago Bernabeu to follow. The second tournament then commenced in Barcelona. Over the 17 day trip, the teams played a combined 24 games and had the Real Madrid experience. It was a huge success and an honour to take two squads that represented not only Newcastle, but Australia in such a fine manner where we were extremely successful even seeing our U10’s team make the final!
Our tours all include training sessions and practice matches for months leading up to the teams departure with all coaches.
JWF will be running both of these tours annually and will announce new age groups and trial dates shortly.
