About David Lowe

David Lowe is currently employed as a Football Consultant/Coach at Hunter Sports High School.  David is also in his fifth year of freelance employment with St Mary’s High School (Gateshead) in their Sports Rotation Program.  David is in his twelth consecutive year as the Newcastle Herald’s Football Columnist/Analyst. David’s association with the code stretches back more than 25 years, with a playing and coaching career at high levels in this country. As a player David made more than 340 appearances in the National Soccer League, scoring over 80 goals.  David represented both NSW and NNSW, and proudly played for the Socceroos at both U/20 and senior levels. Since his retirement from playing David has coached successfully at National Youth League level, and gained invaluable experience from two seasons as an Assistant Coach at NS level. David has enjoyed working relationships with the NNSW Federation and Jets Management Team, and shares a good rapport with the incumbent Jets coaching staff fostered over a 20 year period of playing and coaching. David is a competent public speaker, has good writing skills, strong ties to the Hunter region, and an affinity with young footballers.
